Wow, I can’t believe summer is almost over! Already? Time sure flies when you’re having fun. August has been an eventful month, even though I didn’t travel as much as the month before. At least I had an amazing time at the writing retreat in Barcelona, and I got to spend time in Paris as a “tourist” again, when my friend from Norway came to visit. Thanks to my friend being vegan, I got to explore some of Paris’ best vegan restaurants and a very interesting all vegan supermarket…and it inspired me to write a blog post about it (including some bright and colorful photos).
So now what? Do I have anything planned for September?
Yes, of course I do! My better half is finally getting two weeks off from work to go on vacation, and we are going to spend one week (16th-21st) in the Dordogne department in southwestern France. We will visit different towns for different reasons and different ways (a full day canoe trip being one of them). We will visit castles, eat local specialties, hang out in the pool and simply enjoy everything this department has to offer!
We’ll need to have a second suitcase packed and ready to go, because on the 22nd we’re off to Greece! The plan is to spend a complete week relaxing by the pool, getting spa treatments, enjoying Greek cuisine and getting our adrenaline fix from the water sport activities offered by the hotel. And then there’s the excursion to Athens, where we’ll visit the ruins and learn the history of the city. Hopefully, we’ll have time for a Greek food tour as well, because…Greek food is amazing!
The first two weeks of September will be spent reading, writing and photographing in my nearby area. For research, for my personal development, for creative reasons.
